This morning, I read that being famous on Instagram is like being rich in Monopoly. I suppose that’s true for the 99.9% of us that are not “influencers.” Nonetheless, we are on IG and Facebook and often share our sailing experiences for the world to see.
That said, it’s important to reiterate our commitment to our guest’s privacy. When I say this is a private sailing experience, I mean just that. Not only is the day-of experience private, but we always ask permission before we post on social media.
For example, a few months ago, a local business owner wanted to profess his love and commitment to a co-worker aboard Riviera. I met the guy several days earlier to plan out the details. He handed me a gift wrapped box and told me to stash it somewhere onboard. Along with the special gift for his newly-found love, we had a chilled bottle of Vevue and a vegan charcuterie board ready to go. Yes, I know, the word charcuterie literally means fancy pork, but the young lady was a vegan, so we made it happen.
The afternoon sail was idyllic. The conditions couldn’t have been better! Perfect weather for sailing, great food, top-shelf champagne, and the young lady’s favorite playlist combined for a magical afternoon. She opened her gifts and was over-the-moon happy!
Unfortunately for Riviera, we were asked not to post any photos as this was a workplace romance, and at least for now, they had to keep it on the DL. Sure, not having magic moments available for the world to see was a little disappointing, but well worth knowing we can accommodate those wanting discretion and true privacy.
